- The Mouses House is a multi-award winning resort from Holiday’s for Couples, QLD Tourism, ABIA and HMAA. Situated in the Gold Coast Hinterland, The Mouses House is a mountain hideaway nestled in the magnificent rainforest of the Springbrook Plateau. At an altitude of 860 metres, this romantic getaway is one of the most unique resorts in Australia, consisting of 11 fully self contained, intimate and private chalets priced across three level styles including Luxury Rainforest Spa and Stream Chalets.

Thoughtfully situated for privacy and seclusion, the romantic chalets are reached by a system of walkways lined with tall trees which form a protective canopy overhead. Cascading streams and suspension bridges allow guests to escape to another world, and at night the pathways are cleverly lit, creating a fairytale atmosphere.

At The Mouses House, you can self cater in the well appointed full kitchen or your hosts will prepare a hearty breakfast, lunch or BBQ dinner basket at your request. All chalets have a hardwood fireplace, reverse cycle air conditioning, lounge room 37 HD LCD or 42 HD Plasma TV with DVD player, queen size beds with fine linen, wall mounted 22 HD LCD & built-in DVD player for 'in-bed' TV viewing, fluffy white bathrobes, private double person spa bath with views into the rainforest, private telephone, Wi-Fi internet access, stereo CD/Radio sound system, bbq patio and bed chocolates. Eight of the eleven chalets are built next to a cascading mountain stream.

There are also several restaurants and tea houses nearby for those who wish to dine out. For the energetic, try a game of tennis on the half size court, ride a mountain bike and visit the many and varied spectacular waterfalls and stunning lookouts, or simply explore the natural environment on a well market walking trail.

At day’s end, enjoy a soothing hot tub or invigorating sauna and then settle in front of the fire and prepare to meet some of the natives. Max the possum and his family will be most incensed if not paid enough attention and Curly the cockatoo will talk to you if in the mood! Together with the Sugar Gliders, Rosellas and King Parrots, they combine to welcome you to a totally different world. Only the sound of the streams breaks the stillness of the forest - where even in summer, it can be cool enough to light the wood fire.

Amazingly, all this is only 40 minutes from the glamour of the Gold Coast.

What a fantastic place to stay with the one person you love. Although we didn’t come to The Mouses House for a honeymoon or anniversary celebration, we still enjoyed our romantic getaway and celebrated turning 21!! Upon arriving at “Sleepy” it was just as we hoped it would be. The chalet was so warm and inviting – especially with the yummy breakfast hamper waiting for us to indulge!

We absolutely loved the double spa bath and fireplace as well as our own private jetty! Everything about the chalet put us in ‘relax’ mode especially when we received a ½ hour massage each!!

Springbrook itself is such a beautiful place to visit with all the different lookouts and waterfalls - truly mesmerizing! We will definitely be back to stay again in the near future. Best wishes, Emma-Lee & Coby.
