Coochin Lodge

Overlooking Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island is our renovated 100 year old Queenslander located one hour north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

Coochin Lodge Bed and Breakfast is on the edge of Pumicestone Passage Marine Park and overlooks extensive estuarine flats with abundant birdlife including brolgas, jabirus and migratory birds from as far away as Siberia.

Rooms

Coochin Lodge has three large bedrooms with queen size beds and ensuites and a smaller room with two single beds.  There are tea and coffee facilities and TV/DVD in every bedroom.

Communal lounge, dining areas are warmed by a fireplace in winter and there are wide verandahs for guests to laze on in summer and enjoy the sea breezes and bird life.  Totally screened from the mozzies.

Our own vegie patch supplies much of our produce and our very happy chickens provide our eggs.  We have our own bees for honey and we make our own pure soap.

Things to do

Sit on the verandah with a Devonshire Tea and watch the sea eagles soar on the thermal currents or in the evening watch the full moon rise over the water.

Enjoy our 12 metre pool with barbeque facilities or laze under the pool umbrella.

Perhaps you might enjoy a quiet paddle on surf skis on the Passage exploring the mangrove islands.

Our library will help you identify the birds you see or provide just the pleasure of reading a book.

The more adventurous may explore or climb the Glasshouse Mountains or visit Australia Zoo both 20 minutes away.  South of us is Wild Horse Mountain.  From the car park at the base it is only a 700 metre walk to the top for a 360 degree view of the Glasshouse Mountains to the west or the Passage to the east. History buffs may enjoy the Landsborough Museum or perhaps just enjoy exploring the little villages of Mooloolah, Peachester, Beerwah, Glasshouse, Maleny, Montville.

Caloundra has some of the most beautiful beaches to enjoy.  On a Sunday you could wander around the Caloundra Bulcock Street Markets which are open 8 am – 1 pm.
