Capricorn Caves, 30 Olsen’s Caves Rd, The Caves 4702, 23kms N of Rockhampton, Ph 07 4934 2883.

These amazing tropical limestone offer a beauty different to that of deep underground caves. Daily tours are conducted by experienced guides through large well lit caverns with beautiful decorations, rare ferns and massive tree roots and occasionally small bats. The huge domed Cathedral Cave is renowned for its acoustics and is a popular wedding venue. A fun option at the end of the tour is a candlelit walk through the pioneer passage on to a swinging suspended bridge in the rainforest.

Winner of QLD Tourism Award 2005 for Adventure so book a wild caving tour. Summer Solstice light spectacle occurs in December—early January on the 11:00 am tour.
