Cairns Dive Centre

Cairns Dive Centre is one of the largest certifying agencies in the world and one of Australia’s leading dive and snorkel tours showcasing the Great Barrier Reef.  We have been operating in Cairns for over 25 years, maintaining outstanding customer service.  Cairns Dive Centre offers day cruises and live aboard trips for the snorkeller and diver, as well as great value learn-to-dive courses through all levels from Open Water to Instructors.  We are a Platinum level SSI facility, the highest level SSI training centre.

Learn-to-dive courses commence daily in our training facility, which includes an air-conditioned classroom and a heated, 4-metre deep pool. We have study materials and exams available in various foreign languages.

Day cruises operate daily onboard the M.V. Sun-Kist offering a fast transfer to the reef. She carries a maximum of 25 passengers for our day trip and visits 2 different snorkel/dive sites. All snorkel/dive equipment is included, as well as buffet lunch, tea or coffee. Introductory Scuba dives are available on request.

Live aboard trips onboard the M.V. Kangaroo Explorer also commence daily to the Great Barrier Reef. She is a modern, 25 metre catamaran, each of our 16 cabins (twin, double and 4-berth) is fully air-conditioned, carpeted, has its own en-suite facilities and window.  Our twin and double rooms do not cost any extra.  They are booked on a first come first serve basis.  

Our chef freshly prepares food daily, with most dietary requirements catered for. The top deck offers an enclosed air-conditioned sun lounge as well as an open and shaded sundeck.

The Kangaroo Explorer is equipped with a spacious dive deck, providing easy access to and from the water.

Our dive sites have been selected for their diversity and abundance of Marine Life, with their magnificent array of coral formation, giant clams, walls, drop offs, swim throughs and brilliantly coloured fish. Our great number of dive locations allows us to pick the right dive spot for any particular day, making it as enjoyable as possible for our passengers. We visit reefs such as Milln Reef, Moore Reef, Thetford Reef and Briggs Reef, all of which are located approximately 65 kilometres off the coast of Cairns.
