Cedar Creek Lodges at Thunderbird Park is a 112-hectare rainforest adventure playground on Tamborine Mountain near Queensland’s Gold Coast. This impressive and affordable property offers a range of on-site accommodations styles, a raft of activities and an excellent licensed restaurant.  

The complex is designed for individual travellers, families, and corporate groups who want a comfortable outback experience. Adventure joins nature in Cedar Creek Lodges at Thunderbird Park. The property is ideal for day trips, family holidays, school camps, conferences, romantic getaways, and weddings.

The Gold Coast is Australia’s most popular tourist destination but this region has more than sun, surf, and sand. Take the road to Tamborine Mountain and discover a hidden oasis just 30 minutes drive from Gold Coast beaches and less than an hour from Brisbane, Queensland’s State capital.

Spend the day, a night or two or enjoy a longer holiday in the picturesque creek bank setting. All lodges and rooms offer self-catering facilities; a country style cooked breakfast is included in the price. Extra guests can stay for only $49 per night. Lodges and rooms have reverse cycle air conditioning, televisions, DVD players, and free in-house movies. Irons, ironing boards, and hairdryers are provided.

The family friendly Rainforest Restaurant is open to house guests and the public. Enjoy gourmet fare at affordable prices all day every day. Enjoy a romantic dinner by candlelight on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Stay and play, Cedar Creek Lodges at Thunderbird Park guests can relax and enjoy the scenery or take it to the top with a choice of adventurous activities.  Hunt for gemstone filled thundereggs, Thunderbird Park has the largest deposit in the world. The mineral rich seam was discovered in 1967, the 300-metre by 50-metre open-cut mine has an endless supply of thundereggs.

Go horse trail riding, bush walking, play mini-golf or laser skirmish.  Try rock climbing, abseiling or off road four-wheel driving. Take the challenge of the Adventure Parc ropes course. Adventurers can clear the branches and reach the top of the trunks. Climb cable ladders, balance on bridges, catch a flying fox, play jungle games through a maze of tunnels, manoeuvre on suspended trunks or jump from great heights.

The courses stretch through almost 1000 towering trees at heights of up to 18-metres above the ground. Games are suitable for adults and older children, height restrictions apply but most children aged around eight years are able to join in the games.

Cedar Creek Lodges award-winning accommodation suits every budget. Stay in a luxurious Creek Lodge for up to five guests for $299 per night twin share. These self-contained two-bedroom architecturally designed lodges feature a wood fire, a spa bath, and a private balcony overlooking the picturesque creek.

Luxury Spa Rooms for two are priced from $219 per night twin share. Sleep in a king size bed and relax in the extra large spa bath.

Courtyard Spa Rooms cost from $219 per night twin share. These spacious romantic rooms feature antique brass double beds, an extra large spa bath, and a very comfortable two-seater day bed. The private courtyard and barbecue area capture views of the mountain rainforest.

Premium Rooms for up to four people cost from $199 per night twin share. These rooms feature queen size beds and a sofa with pullout ottomans.

Deluxe Spa Rooms sleep up to three people. There is a queen size bed, two-seater sofa bed and an extra large two-person spa bath with luxurious padded headrests. Stay twin share from $199.

Superior Rooms for up to four people are $189 per night twin share. There is a queen size bed and a king size bed that converts to two single beds. Standard Rooms for up to four people cost from $149 twin share. The rooms have a queen size bed and two single beds.  

Mill Lodge is a holiday home for up to nine people. This home from home is $229 per night (two-night minimum) and $1100 for a seven-night stay. The spacious four-bedroom house on the banks of Cedar Creek features a large wood fireplace and a separate kitchen.

There are queen size beds in two bedrooms. The third bedroom has a double bed with a single size bunk above. The fourth bedroom has two single bunk beds. Fittings include a television, DVD and CD players in the lounge room and a small television in the main bedroom. There is an 11-piece outdoor setting and barbecue.

Lorikeet Lodge sleep up to six people. Pay $199 per night (two-night minimum) or $950 for seven-night holiday. The three-bedroom apartment in Frog Lodge has queen size beds in two rooms and two single beds in the third bedroom. There is a large fully equipped kitchen, separate lounge, and dining room.

Bush Lodges sleep up to six people from $159 per night (two-night minimum) $750 for seven nights. These family-style cabins have two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, and lounge-dining area.

There is dormitory style accommodation with eight people per room from $27.50 per person per night. Add to this powered and unpowered caravan and camping facilities. The options are limitless.
